Abstract
Communication: Chiral metallomesogens, especially those exhibiting S-A and S-C* phases, are of potential interest for applications in elect ro-optics. The performance of the materials depends on a number of fac tors, including spontaneous polarization, switching speed, and tilt an gle. Here, the first reports of the electroclinic behavior of a number of metallomesogens are made.
