Possibility of coal gasification by steam without oxygen has been test
ed. To check this idea, a system of coupled fluidized-bed reactor was
proposed. The reactors are connected by circulation of particles betwe
en them. Heat needed for gasification came from the combustion of the
part of coal in the air and was transfered from one reactor to the otn
er by stream of particles circulating between them. Maximum temperatur
e did not exceed 1000 degrees C. The mathematical model of the propose
d coupled reactors was elaborated and numerical results were obtained
by digital simulation of the analyzed process.
