Polyaniline-coated copoly(styrene styrenesulphonate) (PSS) particles w
ere prepared by oxidative polymerization of aniline hydrochloride usin
g ammonium persulphate in the presence of anionic PSS particles. Polya
niline-coated PSS particles were found to be higher dispersibility tha
n polyaniline itself in an organic solvent. A suspension of polyanilin
e-coated PSS particle in silicone oil was found to exhibit high perfor
mance at higher temperature without the necessity for water.
