Abstract
The synthesis of a series of monoazo disperse dyes derived from 4-, 5- , 6- and 7-nitro-2-aminobenzothiazoles is reported and the colour of t he dyes evaluated with respect to the orientation of the nitro group. Similar data are reported for dyes derived from 4,6-, 5,6- and 5,7-din itro-2-aminobenzothiazoles.
