Abstract
Liquid Co100-xPdx alloys were undercooled below the Curie temperatures T-C(s) of the ferromagnetic solid phase by using electromagnetic levi tation. A modified Faraday balance was applied to measure the magnetiz ation of the undercooled liquid sample as a function of temperature. A Curie-Weiss behavior is detected. The Curie temperature T-C(l) is det ermined for the transition from the paramagnetic to the ferromagnetic state of this metallic liquid with long-range magnetic order. T-C(l) i s slightly smaller than T-C(s).
