Abstract
The Sn-119m Mossbauer parameters at 4.2 K for a series of compounds of general formula R(n)SnCl(3-n). L [n = 0, 1 and 2, R = Me or Ph, L = L (0) hydridotris(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)borate, L(1) hydridotris(3-methyl-1H-p yrazol-1-yl)borate, L(2) hydridotris(3,5-dimethyl-1 H-pyrazol-1-yl)bor ate, or L(0)' tetrakis(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)borate] are reported and discus sed. The compounds generally contain a distorted octahedral tin(IV) co ordination geometry with one facial N-tridentate polypyrazolylborate. The X-ray crystal structures for SnCl3 . L(0), Ph(2)SnCl . L(0) and Ph (2)SnCl . L(2) confirm these results.
