Abstract
Trithiazyltrichloride, (NSCl)(3), reacted with [Ru(eta-C5H5)(2)], [{Ru (cod)Cl-2}(x)] (cod = cis-cis-1,5-cyclooctadiene), [Ru(cht)Cl-2](2) (c ht = 1,3,5-cycloheptatriene) and [(eta(6)-C6H6)RuCl2](2) to give thion itrosyl complexes [(eta(5)-C5H5)Ru(NS)Cl-2], [Ru(NS)Cl-2(cod)]Cl, [Ru( NS)Cl-2(cht)]Ci and [(eta(6)-C6H6)Ru(NS)Cl-2]Cl, respectively. Reactio n of nitrosyl chloride with [Ru(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)], [{Ru(cod)Cl-2}(x)], [Ru(cht)Cl-2](2) and [(eta(6)-C6H6)RuCl2](2) yielded corresponding nit rosyl complexes [(eta(5)-C5H5)RU(No>Cl-2], [Ru(NO)Cl-2(cod)]Cl, [Ru(NO )Cl-2(cht)]Cl and [(eta(6)-C6H6)Ru(NO)Cl-2]C1. The complex [(eta(5)-C5 H5)Ru(NO)Cl-2] was also prepared by the reaction of Ru(NO)Cl-3 with C5 H6. In the presence of zinc dust, reaction of Ru(NO)Cl-3 with C5H6 gav e a paramagnetic complex [{(eta(5)-C5H5)Ru(NO)}(2)(mu(-)Cl)(2)].
