Ac. Bento et Dp. Almond, THE ACCURACY OF THERMAL-WAVE INTERFEROMETRY FOR THE EVALUATION OF THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF PLASMA-SPRAYED COATINGS, Measurement science & technology, 6(7), 1995, pp. 1022-1027
The thermal wave interferometry (TWI) technique is investigated as a m
eans of measuring the thermal and optical properties of plasma-sprayed
coatings. Results obtained from a range of ceramic coatings on metall
ic substrates are presented with a methodology for estimation of the a
ccuracy of the technique. The factors that determine the accuracy of t
he technique are discussed.
