Abstract
The thermal wave interferometry (TWI) technique is investigated as a m eans of measuring the thermal and optical properties of plasma-sprayed coatings. Results obtained from a range of ceramic coatings on metall ic substrates are presented with a methodology for estimation of the a ccuracy of the technique. The factors that determine the accuracy of t he technique are discussed.
