The kinetic behaviour of Cr(VI) in the reaction between I- and H2O2 in
dilute H2SO4 medium was investigated. It is found that Cr(VI) does no
t act as a catalyst of reaction between I- and H2O2 but act directly a
s a oxidizing agent of I-. A method for calculating the reaction order
is also proposed. It is unnecessary to know the concentration of reac
tant when this method is used. A kinetic method for the simultaneous d
etermination of Cr(VI) and Mo(VI) is proposed. The linear ranges of de
termination are 30 similar to 300 ng/mL for Cr(VI) and 2 similar to 20
ng/mL for Mo(VI), respectively.
