Abstract
The chiral ansa-metallocene derivative sila-bridged bis(1-indenyl) tit anium dichloride (Me(2)SiOSiMe(2)) [Ind](2) TiCl2(1) has been prepared by the reaction of the dilithium salt of 1,3-bis(1-indenyl) tetrameth yl disiloxane with TiCl4 . 2THF. After catalytic hydrogenation, 1 has been converted to the corresponding tetrahydroindenyl complex (Me(2)Si OSiMe(2)).[IndH(4)]2TiCl2 (2). The crystal structures of 1 and 2 have been determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Both the crystals belon g to monolinic, space group P2(1)/n. For 1, a=1.0546 (4) nm, b=1.3773( 7) nm, c=1.5493(5) nm; beta=99.05(3)degrees, V=2.222(1) nm(3), Z=4, D- c=1.43 g/cm(3), R=0.033. For 2, a=1.0911(2) nm, b=1.3815(3) nm, c=1.58 86(2) nm; beta=101.39(1)degrees, V=2.347(1) nm(3), Z=4, D-c=1.378 g/cm (3), R=0.053.
