Abstract
Two different models which have been used to explain the observed depe ndence on hydrogen coverage of the frequency on the H-1 NMR signal ari sing from adsorbed hydrogen in the Pt/SiO2 + H-2 system are critically reviewed. New experimental data are presented which, together with pr eviously published measurements, provide unambiguous support for the f ast-exchange, reversible adsorption model.
