This paper describes a device for measuring on-line the electronegativ
e impurity concentration in nonelectronegative gases, such as noble ga
ses, nitrogen, hydrogen, hydrocarbons, hydrides, carbon oxide and diox
ide, and mixtures thereof. The device can detect an oxygen volume frac
tion of 10(-9). The device readings are not affected by the content of
nonelectronegative impurities.
