The high-spin states of Lu-159 were studied through the reaction Sm-14
4(F-19,4n),and the level scheme of Lu-159 is reported for the first ti
me. Higher values, of the first band-crossing frequency compared with
those observed in heavier lutetium even-N isotopes, and signature spli
tting below the band crossing for the pi h(11/2) negative-parity decay
sequences in Lu-159 are reported and briefly discussed.
