T. Kottig et J. Schabel, EXPERIENCES WITH A MODIFIED SURGICAL TECH NIQUE FOR CIMINO-BRESCIA ARTERIOVENOUS-FISTULA, Nieren- und Hochdruckkrankheiten, 24(6), 1995, pp. 279-282
The arteriovenous fistula (shunt) for hemodialysis has a vital importa
nce for dialysis patients. In 10 to 20% a primary insuffiency is obser
ved. The duration of function is influenced by infections, thrombosis,
stenosis and the formation of aneurysmata. A modification of Cimino-B
rescia surgical technique is described. The principle bases on a ballo
nation of the venous vessel which is provided for the anastomosis and
on a perfusion with heparine-salt-solution. The end to side-anastomosi
s of vena and arteria has to performed with regard to suitable conditi
ons. The surgical technique is for lower an upper arm shunts. In 1993
100 patients were treated by this method.
