Ov. Klimov et al., AL2O3-SUPPORTED CATALYSTS PREPARED USING BINUCLEAR AND TRINUCLEAR MOLYBDENUM COMPOUNDS, Kinetics and catalysis, 36(3), 1995, pp. 297-303
A new procedure for the preparation of gamma-Al2O3-supported molybdenu
m-containing catalysts, which involves anchoring the bi- and trinuclea
r molybdenum complex compounds on a support surface, is proposed. By m
eans of XPS, EXAFS, and NMR techniques, the interaction between the co
mplexes and a support, as well as the structure of the surface species
are studied. After anchoring, the molybdenum oxidation degree and the
framework fragments of the starting complexes are retained in the cat
alysts obtained. The prepared catalysts exceed those synthesized by th
e support impregnation with an ammonium heptamolybdate solution, in th
e activity, selectivity, and the duration of the stable performance in
the metathesis of propene and 1-hexene.
