Pe. Kolosov et al., STUDY OF STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CATALYSTS BY PLOTTING RADIAL-DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS .3. PLOTTING THE DIFFERENCE CURVES, Kinetics and catalysis, 36(3), 1995, pp. 309-314
Methods for calculation of the difference intensity curves and the dif
ference curves of radial distribution, applied to heterophase systems,
are proposed. The methods can be used in an express procedure for obt
aining the radial distribution functions. The structure-sensitive segm
ent of the curve of scattering intensity is separated by means of appr
oximating B-splines. Model and real catalysts Pt/NaY and Mo/gamma-Al2O
3 are studied. Anchoring of Pt(0) carbonyl on alumina is found to be f
avorable for the formation of a disperse platinum compound. The struct
ure of this compound remains invariable during reductive and oxidative
treatments. Feasible models for the structure of the surface compound
s are proposed.
