Ya. Kovalenko et al., THE THERMAL-CONDUCTIVITY AND STRUCTURE OF POROUS, HIGHLY DISPERSED POWDER METALS COMPACTED BY COMPRESSION, High temperature, 33(3), 1995, pp. 373-377
Highly-dispersed metal powders are treated as structurized inhomogeneo
us systems. Heat transfer in these systems proceeds mainly in accordan
ce with the contact mechanism. The experimental data on the thermal co
nductivity of the investigated materials are generalized on this basis
. It has been shown that the bulk porosity Pi(0) is an important simil
arity parameter of the structure. Assuming the fractal character of th
e structure the exponent beta in the expression for thermal conductivi
ty lambda = lambda(c)(1 - Pi)(2)(1 - Pi/Pi(0))beta has been estimated.
It has been shown that the exponent beta is not universal for the inv
estigated powders.
