Abstract
The dopamine metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), was f ound to be decreasead in the anterior cingulate cortex of individuals with schizophrenia compared with normal controls, The finding does nor appear to be solely related to the presence of antipsychotic medicati ons, age, postmortem interval, or freezer time. No changes in norepine phrine and its metabolites were found.
