J. Schwarz et al., VOLTAMMETRIC SPECIATION OF BUTYLTIN COMPOUNDS .2. ADSORPTIVE CATHODICSTRIPPING DETERMINATION IN FRESH-WATERS, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 352(5), 1995, pp. 479-482
A sensitive and selective procedure for the determination of tributylt
in chloride (TBT), dibutyltin dichloride (DBT) and monobutyltin trichl
oride (MBT) based on solid phase extraction (SPE) with ENVI-Carb non-p
orous carbon as column material followed by adsorptive cathodic stripp
ing voltammetry (AdSV) in the presence of tropolone is reported. The d
etermination limits achieved using a 500 mL water sample were 210 ng L
(-1) (as Sn) for TBT, 30 ng L(-1) (as Sn) for DBT and 40 ng L(-1) (as
Sn) for MET. The method was used to determine the levels of butyltin s
pecies in surface water from the yacht harbour at Zewen on the Mosel R
iver and in the tap water supply in Trier.
