Abstract
Expansion of the forehead skin has been advocated in nasal reconstruct ion because it provides a flap that is longer and thinner, while allow ing easy primary closure of the donor area. With appropriate changes i n technique, the same excellent, or even better results in nasal recon struction can be obtained without the need for tissue expansion. With this technique, a two-stage nasal reconstruction is performed with alm ost no need for secondary revisions. It eliminates the disadvantages o f tissue expansion such as time loss, physical disfigure ment, discomf ort, extra operation and costs.
