REHABILITATION OF THE INJURED ATHLETE

Rehabilitation of the injured athelete should focus on elimination of physical impairments and functional limitations experienced by the ath lete. The purpose of this article is to describe a clinical pathway th at has been developed to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries, which can be used to facilitate clinical decision making and problem s olving; to enhance rehabilitation of injured athletes. The basic princ iples and considerations for the use of physical agents and therapeuti c exercise will also be reviewed.
