Abstract
Electroreduction of chromium on platinum electrode from sulfuric acid solution of potassium dichromate and the influence on this process of dichromate adsorption is studied. Reduction of hexavalent chromium in the region of positive potentials is shown to yield trivalent chromium . Dichromate adsorption on platinum electrode results in its partial r eduction, the resultant compound is of an anionic nature. The adsorpti on behavior and kinetics of oxidation of the product formed are invest igated.
