Abstract
The possibility of hypersound generation by means of a double-barrier resonant-tunneling structure is suggested. The intensity of the genera ted sound is estimated. Prospects for phonon spectroscopy and acoustoe lectronics based on the resonant-tunneling devices are suggested. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physics.
