The kinetics of Pb(II) reduction in chloride-bromide melts has been st
udied in the 670-780 K range by means of linear voltammetry, chronopot
entiometry, and chronoamperometry. It was found that an electrode proc
ess in an LiCl-KCl chloride melt is controlled by lead ion diffusion.
In chloride-bromide melts the process is complicated by the preceding
stage of the dissociation of lead complex ions.
