Abstract
Binge eating disorder affects a significant proportion of obese indivi duals seeking treatment. Current approaches to the treatment of obesit y can often frustrate, even exacerbate binge eating. Clarification of associated eating disturbances and description of the syndrome of bing e eating disorder are discussed. A proposed treatment for group psycho therapy is described, based on effective cognitive-behavioural therapy of bulimia nervosa.
