P. Persson et S. Aberg, STATISTICAL MEASURES OF CHAOS IN QUANTUM-SYSTEMS, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 52(1), 1995, pp. 148-153
A simple model, based on random matrix theory, is utilized for the des
cription of energy levels and level dynamics in mixed regular and chao
tic quantum systems. We find that different types of level statistics,
such as nearest neighbor distributions, long-range correlations, wave
function analysis, curvature distributions, etc., show dramatically d
ifferent sensitivity to the ''chaoticity parameter. Differences betwee
n long-range and short-range fluctuation measures are explained in ter
ms of localization of the wave functions.
