The spatial distribution of the oscillatory flow in convection driven
by chemical waves is visualized by a method that uses the differences
in light transmisison caused by the tilt of the wave fronts. The image
s show large flow waves with a wavelength on the order of ten chemical
wavelengths traveling through the dish towards the center of the unde
rlying spiral wave.
