Cr. Sullivan et Sr. Sanders, MODELS FOR INDUCTION MACHINES WITH MAGNETIC SATURATION OF THE MAIN FLUX PATH, IEEE transactions on industry applications, 31(4), 1995, pp. 907-917
A new nonlinear pi model for an induction machine operating in magneti
c saturation has been developed, It is based on a magnetic circuit mod
el of a rotor-stator tooth pair, with nonlinear reluctance elements re
presenting the saturation in the rotor and in the stator. The model of
a tooth pair is extended to a model of the machine by assuming an inf
inite number of infinitesimal teeth. The model is compatible with the
Blondel-Park transformation, Experimental measurements on a wound-roto
r machine validate the new model. Operating conditions for optimal eff
iciency at high torque levels requiring operation in saturation are co
mputed.
