U. Chatterjee et al., WIDELY TUNABLE DIFFERENCE-FREQUENCY-GENERATION (2.6-7.7 MU-M) IN LITHIUM IODATE, Optics communications, 118(3-4), 1995, pp. 367-374
Tangential phase-matching has been utilised to increase the conversion
efficiency of the difference frequency mixing process for the generat
ion of tunable infrared radiation in the lithium iodate crystal for th
e first time. Using the Nd:YAG second harmonic and the same pumped dye
laser radiations as input fundamental radiation sources, wide tunabil
ity has been obtained for 2.6-7.7 mu m including the 6-6.7 mu m transm
ission blockage region of the crystal due to two-photon absorption.
