Jt. Woo et al., PEPTIDYL ALDEHYDE DERIVATIVES AS POTENT AND SELECTIVE INHIBITORS OF CATHEPSIN-L, Bioorganic & medicinal chemistry letters, 5(14), 1995, pp. 1501-1504
A series of peptidyl aldehyde derivatives were synthesized and tested
for their inhibitory effects on several cysteine proteases and a serin
e protease. These componds showed no inhibition for alpha-chymotrypsin
at the concentration less than 1000 ng/ml, while they exhibited promi
nent inhibition for calpain II and cathepsins, especially cathepsin L.
