Abstract
Synthetic and natural naphthofuranquinones were tested in vitro agains t three Trypanosoma cruzi strains with different drug susceptibility t o nifurtimox and benznidazole in vivo. Four compounds exhibited high t rypanocidal activity. No difference in drug susceptibility was found a mong the strains, therefore showing no correlation between the in vitr o activity of those compounds and the in vivo results with the classic drugs.
