The Gauss decomposition of quantum group GL(q) (n) is defined purely a
lgebraically. The entries of the upper-triangular matrix commutes with
those of the lower-triangular one. The quantum determinant is the pro
duct of the diagonal matrix elements. This decomposition gives rise to
a new bosonization of the GL(q) (n) in terms of 2n q-oscillators.
