Abstract
The first dimeric ellagitannins, rhoipteleanins A and E, generated bio genetically by intermolecular C-C oxidative coupling, are isolated fro m the fruits of Rhoiptelea chiliantha and structurally elucidated on t he basis of spectroscopic and chemical evidence.
