ON THE GENERATION OF FLUX-TUBE WAVES IN STELLAR CONVECTION ZONES .2. IMPROVED TREATMENT OF LONGITUDINAL TUBE WAVE GENERATION

We have previously considered the generation of purely longitudinal ma gnetohydrodynamic tube waves by external turbulent convection and deri ved general formulas for the source function and for the wave energy f luxes. In this paper, we present an improved treatment of the generati on of such tube waves, based on a more sophisticated description of th e turbulence and more refined calculations. These improvements allow u s to compute and discuss in greater detail the spectra and fluxes of l ongitudinal tube waves generated in the solar convective zone.
