A new phase cycling scheme is proposed for use in solid-state NMR expe
riments involving multiple pi-pulses. The phase of the sequence follow
s the supercycled concept proposed a decade ago for heteronuclear deco
upling experiments. Both theoretical and experimental results suggest
that the concept of supercycling can be used in experiments other than
decoupling schemes, and may be of particular utility in novel solid-s
tate NMR experiments for reintroduction of the dipolar interaction dur
ing magic angle spinning.
