Calculations incorporating the effects of electron correlation on the
Auger energies and widths of the neon 1s(2)(2s2p(5))(3,1) (Po)3p(2)S s
tates have given results in agreement with the recent measurements of
Pahler et al. The Ne+ 1s(2)2s2p(5) (1Po)3p S-2 autoionizing state is a
bove the Ne2(+) 1s(2)2s2p(5) (3Po) threshold and, using the theoretica
l Auger electron energy, its decay width to this channel is computed t
o be 0.48 eV. At the Hartree-Fock level this quantity is equal to 0.28
0 eV. The partial width of the 1(Po)3p(2)S state to the Ne2+ 2s(2)2p(4
) D-1 channel is essentially zero while that to the Ne2+ 2s(2)2p(4) S-
1 channel is 0.028 eV.
