Abstract
A.S. Kaufman (1994) made a staunch recommendation that clinicians subs titute Symbol Search, a new subtest, for Coding when calculating Perfo rmance and Full Scale IQs on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Child ren-III (D. Wechsler, 1991). Tables are provided for accurate derivati on of IQs, percentile ranks, and confidence intervals when this substi tution is made.
