Abstract
In the present work, STM/STS investigations of HOPG treated in remote Ar+ and O-2-plasma have been carried out. Nanopits with size range 10- 300 Angstrom were observed. In the STS energy spectrum of HOPG with na nopits of size less than 100 Angstrom the appearance of a new energy s pectrum connected with dimensional quantization was found. If two nano pits of this size are situated at the distance of 10-20 Angstrom, then the energy structures inside each pit are split into two new energy l evels.
