Pg. Nielsen et Sm. Madsen, OCCLUSIVE TREATMENT OF PALMOPLANTAR PUSTULAR PSORIASIS WITH CLOBETASOL PROPIONATE OINTMENT SUCCEEDED BY SHORT-TERM PUVA, Journal of dermatological treatment, 6(2), 1995, pp. 77-79
Glucocorticoids with hydrocolloid dressing occlusion have been reporte
d to be effective in the treatment of different clinical forms of psor
iasis. However, relapse may occur early and therefore it was considere
d of interest to study the effect on relapse intervals of subsequent s
hort-term PUVA. In a randomized crossover design it was shown that clo
betasol propionate ointment occluded with a thin hydrocolloid dressing
for 12 days was a rapid and effective symptomatic treatment for chron
ic palmoplantar pustular psoriasis. However, additional short-term PUV
A did not improve treatment results and did not increase intervals bet
ween relapses.
