Abstract
A fibre Bragg grating based laser sensor system with an RMS strain res olution of 5.6 x 10(-14)/root Hz at 7 kHz is reported. An interferomet ric readout technique is used to determine strain induced wavelength s hifts in the laser with high resolution.
