The nonlinear electrical conductance and the persistent current in a o
ne-dimensional conducting ring is calculated in the presence of an imp
urity potential. The impurity-induced corrections to the conductance a
nd persistent current are shown to be sharp functions of voltage and m
agnetic flux. Even for weak scattering the corrections are very sensit
ive to the precise impurity configuration.
