Ra. Rimmer, RF SYSTEM RESEARCH-AND-DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PEP-II B-FACTORY, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 99(1-4), 1995, pp. 717-720
The PEP-II B factory will be a high-luminosity asymmetric electron-pos
itron collider optimized for the study of CP violation [1]. It is bein
g built at SLAG by a collaboration including SLAG, LBL and LLNL. The i
ntegrated-luminosity needed for the experiment requires high average b
eam current in the two storage rings and this creates significant chal
lenges in the design of the RF system and other components. The paper
describes the R and D activities in progress towards meeting these cha
llenges and some of the significant achievements in the areas of RF ca
vity design, higher-order mode damping, RF window design and feedback
systems.
