Abstract
The influence of correlation effects on Jahn-Teller distortion and pai ring in a molecule and ions of C-60 is investigated in the Peierls-Hub bard model using the Gutzwiller approximation. It is demonstrated that the electron-electron interactions suppress the tendency to Jahn-Tell er distortion and destroy the pairing.
