Abstract
Raman scattering measurements were performed on porous Vycor filled wi th H-2 and cooled using two different cooling rates. For the slowest c ooled sample a transition from the liquid phase to a solid phase which is neither hcp, nor fee was observed. For the faster cooled sample, t he H-2 molecules probably freeze into a structurally disordered phase. Our measurements show that no substantial liquid fraction is present below the predicted Bose condensation temperature.
