Va. Beloshenko et al., THERMAL SHRINKAGE OF ULTRA-HIGH-MOLECULAR -MASS POLYETHYLENE AND POLYMERIZATION-FILLED COMPOSITES BASED ON POLYETHYLENE, Vysokomolekularnye soedinenia. Seria A, 37(6), 1995, pp. 1089-1092
Specific features of structural rearrangements in samples based on ult
ra-high-molecular-mass polyethylene and its composites with aluminum a
nd bauxite, prepared by solid-state extrusion, were studied. Thermal s
hrinkage of the extrudates was shown to be primarily dependent upon th
e melting of crystallites produced by orientation crystallization. Dif
ferent behavior of the samples based on ultra-high-molecular-mass poly
ethylene and its composites was explained by different molecular orien
tations related to the presence of fillers.
