Abstract
Nisin gene type in 2 Turkish and 3 Canadian strains of L. lactis subsp . lactis was identified by amplification of nisin structural gene by c loning and polymerase chain reaction. In this way, it was determined t hat all tested strains had nisin A gene. For gene cloning a promoter-a ctive vector, pNZ9019, was constructed and transformed into Escherichi a coli E10.
