Sj. Myerslipton, EFFECT OF SERVICE-LEARNING ON COLLEGE-STUDENTS ATTITUDES TOWARD INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING, Journal of college student development, 37(6), 1996, pp. 659-668
This effect of an intensive 2-year service-learning program on student
s' attitudes toward international understanding was assessed. A nonequ
ivalent control group experiment was conducted with students from a la
rge, Western state university. The results of the multivariate analysi
s generally supported the hypothesis that students who are involved in
service-learning show larger increases in international understanding
than students involved in voluntarism or no service.
