Abstract
We describe a case of multiple polypoid lesions that occurred in the c olon of a 62-year-old man, Eight of the lesions were demonstrated by b arium enema, and five mere examined histologically. A small nodule in the submucosa of the ascending colon was histologically identical to g ranular cell tumor, characterized by nested growth of large tumor cell s with ample granular cytoplasm and small round nuclei, Immunohistoche mically, the cells were positive for S-100, neuron-specific enolase an d vimentin, and negative for alpha-smooth muscle actin and desmin.
