J. Bystriansky et al., DETERMINATION OF CONDITIONS LEADING TO LOCALIZED CORROSION INITIATIONON UNS-S32100 (AISI-321) STAINLESS-STEELS IN NUCLEAR-POWER-PLANT ENVIRONMENTS, Nuclear Engineering and Design, 157(1-2), 1995, pp. 123-136
The steel grade UNS S32100 is the stainless material most frequently u
sed in circuits of the VVER type nuclear power stations. Transfer of k
nowledge about corrosion processes valid for steels not stabilized by
titanuim, e.g. of the S30400 or S31600 type, is in many cases not esta
blished. It is necessary to expect different behaviour of titanium-sta
bilized steels especially during initiation of localized corrosion pro
cesses, due to different phase composition of stabilized and non-stabi
lized steels.
