OBSERVATION OF TIME-NONREVERSIBLE OPTICAL INTERACTION WITH ZINCBLENDESEMICONDUCTORS - COMMENT

There have been recent reports [Zheludev et al., Phys. Rev. B 50, 1150 8 (1994)] that bulk GaAs in equilibrium can display gyrotropic linear dichroism due to symmetric terms linear in the light wave vector in th e dielectric function. Here, we argue otherwise.
